Emily's birthday being at the beginning of January poses difficulty when planning her party! This year, we postponed it for a few weeks. The night before, the kids help me crumble cake to make cake "snow" balls!
Emily's theme this year was snowflake ballerina. We re-used her tutu from Halloween and got her a new, personalized t-shirt for the occasion! For Christmas, I made tutus for all of my little nieces...partially in anticipation of Emily's theme. Sadly, three of the four of them were unable to make it due to family illness! Bummer!
Here is Emily with her first gift of the night...she held it out to me and said "This is amazing!" It was so sweet:)

No, it wasn't cold in our house...the scarf was a part of the favor bag for each of the little girls...I made them...you know, to go with the tutus and the snowflake ballerina theme;)

The boys at the party were not left out...I made them these neck mufflers (?) but Emily decided it was a headband and rocked Aaron's at the end of the night. Party animal!
Her party was a great time for all! She certainly enjoyed it and often brings up the fact that she'd like to have another birthday soon!

The weekend after Emily's party, our good friends, the Ostrouts, came to visit us! Sam, being the youngest, was naturally the designated driver...
Emily will jump into the trailer any time she sees anyone driving the car!
Aaron and James were so busy the whole time they were here, I didn't get a great picture! Here, they wind down before James and his family hit the long road home!
The day the Ostrouts left, was also my birthday! It was such a great day for me to be able to share part of it with such great friends! That evening brought more fun, and spoiling, as Josh cooked a great dinner...complete with homemade creme brulee for dessert! Before everyone went to bed, I insisted on a family picture! We always let the day get away without taking one, but not this time!
