The history on this room is as follows:
When Josh bought the house, it was an enclosed sunroom with sliding glass doors separating it from the main living spaces. It stepped down about 8 inches from the main level of the house. It had a door at the far end, and two others just next to the sliding doors on both the front and garage walls. TOO many doors and it was full of smelly carpet pieces. After some paint, self-installed carpet and french doors swapped for the sliders, the room became an exercise/catch-all room. Shortly thereafter, Josh built a bathroom from the ground up (yes, by himself) using space in the garage and the door that connected the garage to this room. When Aaron was born, we made room for our guest furniture and made a nice guest suite, complete with it's own bathroom! Last summer, he re-sided the house and removed the random door that led to the front yard and the ugly wall furnace. Last winter, he removed the siding that was still covering a once exterior (?), now interior wall and put up fresh drywall and paint and added baseboard heaters. If you're keeping track, that just leaves one exterior door and a nice guest/fitness room.
Sooo...this weekend, he moved out all the furniture, rolled up the carpet and got to work. He enclosed the exterior door (see far end) and raised the floor to match the rest of the house...

After that, he put up walls to divide the long room into two separate rooms with a closet in the new bedroom. He moved the fan/light into the bedroom, added recessed lights to the new office space, added light switches and outlets, carpeted the bedroom, layed down real hardwood in the office to match the rest of the house, put up trim and a door AND put his tools away. All of this, by himself in 3 1/2 days. There are still some details to finish, including staining the hardwood, BUT holy cow! I just wanted to find a guy who could fix a leaky sink...which reminds me, honey, the main bathroom sink is still leaking;)
We love you Josh and appreciate all that you are capable of!
Here's the view of the new rooms taken from the same angle as the first picture above. The office is closest to us and the bathroom door on the left and the bedroom door on the far wall.

Here's the new bedroom with our very own RE-decorator moving things around!

Aaron is loving all the new running space and Duke is just hoping we'll put down some kind of rug for him so he doesn't have to tiptoe across the wood fearing for his life and whining all the way!

HOLY COW is right! That looks fantastic! Way to go, Josh. Is there anything that boy doesn't do?!
Wow, that is amazing! It looks awesome! Jon is super impressed...especially that Josh did it in 3 1/2 days! The projects in our house seem to take more like 6 months...but don't tell Jon I said that! :)
I feel it's my (official? unofficial?) job to give Josh a hard time, but da-yum! I'm impressed!! And your description of your boy's hair reminds me SO MUCH of Elliott's! :) Hey, our annual trip to Indy's coming up! Are you free for dinner on 11/19???
This is awesome, Stacie! Pass on our "job well done" to Josh and let him know he is welcome to head out to VA anytime to finish our attic! :)
