I was asked to be a bridesmaid in my friend Christine's wedding on the beach in Kill Devil Hills so we booked a beach house across the street from the wedding house and decided to make a vacation of it! We invited my Mom and Terry to join us so they could spend some quality time with the kids while we were at the wedding festivities!
The kids were great on the trip down. We drove through the night which gave us a new appreciation for the times our parents did that for us! How exhausting!
Aaron has already become a mini beach bum...here he and Daddy take in the view!
Emily got to debut her first bikini...precious!
Daddy and Aaron had way too much fun out in the waves with the inflatable boat! I even got in on the action and rode the waves with Aaron...he giggled the whole time!
Here is Emily's personal beach space...I had to share the pic of her little body in a bathing suit...so sweet:) Look at those legs!
Aaron had more dump trucks, diggers and loaders to play with on the beach than any boy could possibly dream of. Daddy built him this great beach construction site and he kept jumping from the top, down into the pit, loaders in hand!
Aaron's curls are back thanks to the salty air and water!
Up close with Emily...
Aaron got to sleep in a big boy bed for the first time and did great! The only problem we had was keeping him in it a couple of days at naptime! He always takes a book to bed with him and this night he must have been too tired to finish the whole thing since it's open on his chest!
Aaron absolutely loved playing in the crashing waves. He found it hilarious to watch the water rush back to the sea all around him. He would jump into the wave as it came up and then roll all around as it receded...I wish you could hear the laughter. It was as much fun for us to watch him enjoy it so much!
Grammie and Emily had lots of time to bond! Birthday twins on the beach! It is rare these days to find Emily with her tongue IN her mouth...she is so goofy!
