Fun with Family!

It's that time of year!  The biennial trip with my family has come and gone...but left us with lots of great pictures and even better memories!  This year, Grammie wanted to take the grandkids to Disney, but the beach was also a MUST so we found a great house in Ponce Inlet, Florida...less than 90 minutes from Disney, but next to the beach!

The kids were so excited to be with their cousins.  Here they are with the neighborhood gopher tortoise!  He was very cool and not all that phased by his admirers!

Cute girls walking back down to our house...

And we're off to Disney!  Grammie bought all of the kids costumes to wear to the park...Daphne and Emily looked adorable as Princess Aurora!

Here's Aaron with Walt, gearing up for the day at Disney World!

Watching the castle performance...lucky kids!

Yes, Daddy has long arms...and the kids were perfectly comfortable this way!

I think, after last year, Emily goes to Disney just for the popcorn...she asked for it almost immediately!

Aaron took Daddy for a drive in the race car...they both loved it!

We were so lucky to be able to ride the brand new Little Mermaid ride!  The small section of Fantasyland was open as a "dress rehearsal" while we were there!
The dumbo ride has been updated since we were there last year, but it is still a fun classic!
Here's our good Daddy taking the kids for a sprint through the splash pad!

The Magic Kingdom at Halloween time...magical, of course!
We had a great time and accomplished more than we thought we would...especially with a 5 kids ages 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1!  The kids were exhausted but had a blast!  Emily didn't wake up until I undressed her and put her in the bathtub!

Ponce Inlet was a very charming area...unspoiled beach town!  It boasts the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse...the second tallest functioning lighthouse in the country!  The first two photos are a view of it from our front porch of our beach house.

Of course, we took a morning to tour the grounds and climb to the top!  It was really neat to learn about this particular lighthouse and to get to see the view from the top!

Stay tuned for more...specifically, beach fun!
