Here's Aaron's view while watching a video as a treat...rough life, eh?
Before we left home, I managed to get some Piggy Paint on Emily's toes! It was quite a task getting each of them painted and not getting it all over both of us! It wore off quickly, but looked adorable while it lasted!
Due to a mishap with the waitress bumping Aaron with a highchair and subsequently feeling badly for doing so...he had his first milkshake. Each day that followed, we allowed him to have one with his lunch (he never did finish more than half!).
I'm not sure what this face was...she was probably "insisting" on having some crackers which are currently the only food she will eat consistently. She's challenging me to come up with balanced meals that she'll eat...hopefully we come out of this soon!
In the meantime, as a reward for her learning to drink out of a straw (yay!), she had a taste of the milkshake:
She sure looks cute in her shades...too bad she wouldn't leave them on for any length of time!
Aaron was Mr. Bashful around strangers and not-so-strangers this week...he wanted the hood up for privacy, I think!
If you look in the center above the umbrella, next to the palm tree you'll see my boys playing in the sand:) The water was chilly and the lifeguard station flew the man-o-war flag all week so we stuck to the pool with a couple of trips to the beach. I even got to spend a couple of naptimes on the beach by myself...felt good:)
Aaron snuck in a nap on our way to the store...
Here's Emily in her daily breakfast seat! Each morning we ordered breakfast to the room which was a great way to start out the day! Of course, it was ridiculously overpriced...a small glass of milk was $4 and that was before the $3 service delivery fee and automatic 20% gratuity! Sheesh!
And Aaron during breakfast...he became addicted to O's this week!
We took the kids down to the Miami Seaquarium. I was really disappointed that the killer whale exhibit and show were closed for routine maintenance, but we enjoyed a great dolphin show and got to see them feeding the sea lions...and we also got to see my favorite marine animal, the mantees!! There was even a baby one!
The Florida humidity brought out some curls on Miss Emily! They were adorable and we hope to see them again when summer nears!
She perfected drinking through a straw over the course of the trip...makes life a little easier on me when preparing our diaper bag for dinners out!
Here are Aaron and Daddy walking home from dinner...Aaron walked on the wall all the way up to the top!
This boy was ready for the pool every morning!
Emily snuck in a nap at the pool one morning thanks to the magic of Daddy's arms walking her around...too sweet!
Pool boy! He loved his "pool glasses."
Emily looks sweet and innocent here...(and she generally is)
...but here you'll see the piles of wipes that she pulled out of a nearly full package while she was supposed to be napping!
A good snooze:
I just loved this little outfit...stylin' girl!
The last couple of days were SUPER windy. We still walked to dinner and even stopped at the playground on the beach for the kids to play!
(the ONLY family picture we took!)
We had a great time, but are glad to be back...and most of us are still tired:) Has anyone figured out yet how to take a vacation from a vacation?
