Our Handy Soccer Player and Sweet Bookworm

Recently, Josh and I decided to just go for it and order ourselves some bedroom furniture. A few years ago, Josh built us a gorgeous suede upholstered bed and a solid oak armoire, but despite these great pieces, we were lacking in storage. To get our room ready for the new furniture, Josh wanted to update the closet doors (which required some framing and drywall) and replace the trim. Thank goodness he has this little helping handyman!

He wears his headphones to keep the loud noises away...they make him brave enough to help Daddy use the nail gun!

Working boys need rest too...sweet boy:)

Little Emily is QUITE the bookworm. I am trying to come up with a book nook in her room with comfy pillows, etc and bookshelves because I know she'd use them!

As mentioned in the previous post, Aaron started soccer! Here he is at his first practice. We arrived early and he started playing with the coach's son Jack. Jack was adorable...very helpful in teaching Aaron things and sweetly rewarding him with a hug for a job well done. After about 8 minutes, Aaron came over to me and said "I'm done, Mommy." Practice hadn't even officially started yet! We encouraged him to get back in there and soon he wanted practice to go on forever! He had this sweet little endorphin buzz afterward...he LOVED it!

Here he is cheering on his teammates during a drill where the coach would kick their ball out into the field and they would have to run after it and kick it all the way back to the goal:

Emily took advantage of having Grandma AND a playground during Aaron's practice:

Aaron got a few minutes with Grandma on the playground too...

Goofy girl:

The picture says it all:
