This year, for Christmas, my in-laws opted to rent a house on Anna Maria Island and invited us all down as a Christmas gift! We fortunately has some free airline tickets to use so off we went!
Josh had to stay behind to work for a couple of days which meant Mommy + 1 toddler + 1 preschooler on the plane by themselves! Fortunately he was able to accompany us to the gate and he loaded up a tablet with some videos for them to watch. Plus, they really are great kids and it was a direct flight...no big deal!

Grandpa and Grandma picked us up at the airport! Here they are shortly after arriving back at the house! Obviously excited to be in the warmer weather with such great amenities surrounding them!
How much more "Florida" does it get? We had what we decided was a tangerine tree in our yard and picked fresh ones daily!
Here Aaron meets his counterpart...a heron who we lovingly deemed "Aaron the Heron." He was in our yard every day and was accepted as an honorary Orahood by the end of our time there!
Within an hour of us arriving at the house, Aaron was in the pool! Ah, to be a kid again!
Another exciting part of our Christmas gift was tickets to Disney World! We picked up Daddy that morning and found our way to the Magic Kingdom. First...a ferry ride from the parking lot to the park.
One of this year's Christmas card photos:
Another family shot with the castle!
Heading into Tomorrowland to the highly recommended Buz.z Light.year ride!
Grandpa's score smoked us all!
Of course, we had to ride the Dumbo ride!
And the carousel...
And here are the ducks we, ahem, weren't feeding our popcorn to out of our hands!
Back at the house, it was time to really dig into the land and sea that surrounded us! Here's Emily in her adorable bathing suit...on a chair that was made for her!
Check the next post for more...definitely more to come!
