Anna Maria Island Part Two

An additional source of fun for the time we were there were the paddleboards! We were staying right on the bay and could slip off the dock onto the paddleboards without getting wet! Plus, the water was so calm, it made for an enjoyable excursion!
We stayed on the bay but were about 3 blocks from the beach! Every morning, we loaded up the bikes and off we went! Here's Grandpa driving the kids back to the house...I'd like to say it was always peaceful, however Emily does not tolerate helmets well and neither of them could keep their hands to themselves! Needless to say, we may it alive each day!

Daddy and Aaron attempt to catch some minnows. For December, the water was actually quite tolerable...chilly, but tolerable!
Meanwhile, Emily played happily in the sand, taking the toys out of the mesh bag and putting them back in! The sand was super soft and nice and cool! We also made sand cakes daily...using shells as decorations!
Happy girl!
Sweet little beach baby!
Mommy & Emily in matching bathing suits!
In addition to paddleboarding, we also got to kayak. Here Aaron practices in the pool...
...and did great in the bay!
Daddy and Aaron fished off the dock...
...and caught a puffer fish! (They released him back)
Josh and I headed out together and...
met this guy! He was totally playing with us! We chased him around the bay. I was so nervous that he was going to jump up and tip me...but it was great! We learned later that there was a dolphin rehab facility nearby that released them back into the wild in this area so they are used to people! We were told if we knew the right hand motions, we could get them to come to us...sadly we didn't...and it would have been illegal;)
See his tail off to the right of Josh?
And yep, I paddleboarded too! It was so peaceful!
A rare shot of just the two of us...thanks to my mother-in-law for her insistence! And we are standing on the same surface...that is our true height difference!
I brought a couple dressy outfits for the kids in the hopes of getting a beachy, holiday photo of the family...we couldn't quite get one worthy of sharing, but here are a couple cute ones of the dapper kiddos!
(she's kissing him, not biting...yes, I did need to claify!)
Handsome boy!
Okay, you made it through part two...and yes, there will be an equally long part three! Stay tuned!
