February brought another guest! My best friend, Kelly and her son, James, came for a long weekend to meet sweet Macie! We had a nice time just hanging out, once again!
As I've alluded to before....there were a few hidden blessings behind Macie's early arrival. Another big one was our ability to donate 236 ounces of breastmilk to the local mother's milk bank. I was blessed that my milk came in, in ample supply, following Macie's birth but since she was so tiny, she wasn't eating all that I was providing. She started out on 10 mL (1/3 oz)! By the time she was discharged she was up to around 40-55mL. This milk will go for other preemies who need it. Way, way better than dumping it all out!
We did save around 75oz and I'm pumping a couple more most days so we have a nice backup supply if it ever becomes necessary. Macie hadn't had a bottle since she left the NICU, so we decided it was time for Daddy to do her first one at home...
And of course, he had two VERY willing helpers...
Aaron loves to snuggle into her and she is really taken by him. I think it is his sweet voice and naturally gentle spirit...

Emily in her (my) kitchen! This was my kitchen growing up...it needs a couple of repairs, but is generally in great shape! It is fun seeing it in our home and Emily plays with it daily!

She loves to lay on the floor and gets her arms and legs really going...usually in an effort to get some sort of sound out!
These moments are brief, but she can lift her head and rolls over to her back with some regularity!
Another hand-me-down from her Mama...this is a sweater vest that my grandma made for me. It fits Emily perfectly!
And even at 2+ months, she still sleeps with her arms outside of her blankets:)
