Well, for sure Macie's arrival caught us by surprise, but the holidays were upon us and we had two kids at home who were looking forward to Christmas! We did our best to balance everyone!
On Aaron's last day of school before break, they had a Christmas program. He is usually our shy guy but I'm so proud to say that he sang and did the hand motions for his program this year! And, with a fever to boot (which we were unaware of until afterward!).
The little boy next to him is one of his first friends, David!
Doesn't he look grown up here?!
Being in the NICU didn't prevent Macie from enjoying her first Christmas! I threw her tutu together, but one of the nurse's mother's made the sweet little Christmas hat for some of the babies!
Even Santa stopped by for a visit!
After visiting with Macie and Santa on Christmas eve, I met Josh and the kids at his parents' for dinner and gifts!
Then back home...a cookie and hot chocolate for Santa and a carrot for his reindeer
While Emily and I set out the snack, Aaron and Daddy set up the train...complete with a package tunnel!
Hanging our stockings...this is the first time in my life that I've had a real mantle to hang stockings by! My parents put forth a valiant effort with a cardboard fireplace/mantle growing up;) It worked!
The next morning brought major excitement...here the kids open their big gifts! They were so excited and Christmas was such a great morning...
...except for poor Josh who had come down with the flu! Thankfully his parents joined us for Christmas day and were able to stay and play with the kids while I went to visit Macie and Josh rested in bed. What a season we had!
